Bait Reef Marine Park
Join us on our “Bait Reef” full day dive and snorkel adventure, aboard Reef Spirit, our purpose built dive and snorkel boat. This great trip is packed full of fun and excitement, and has people coming back year after year.
Acknowledged as the most spectacular reef location in the area, Bait Reef has shallow lagoons and coral gardens suitable for beginner snorkellers and divers. All snorkellers and divers are guided by experienced guides with floatation devices and surface support close at hand. For the more adventurous, underwater canyons, vertical “Stepping Stones”, and plentiful sea life provide a snorkel and scuba experience to remember.
Check in time is 9:00am at our shop, get geared up with the equipment you will use for the day, then board our vessel Reef Spirit for a 9:30am departure to start your Outer Great Barrier Reef Experience.
Enjoy complimentary coffee/tea and morning tea as you embark on your adventure to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
The sites are chosen based on tides, weather and visibility to provide you with the best possible site on any given day with more time to spend with your family and/or friends, when some are diving and others are snorkelling.
All water sports create an appetite and after snorkelling or diving at our first chosen site, enjoy our DELICIOUS fresh Buffet Lunch consisting of cold cuts of Roast Chicken, Champagne Ham, Salami, Turkey and Silver Side Beef, Asian noodle salad, potato salad, green salad, rice salad, tuna pasta bake, fresh bread, fresh bread rolls and condiments.
With only 2 sites visited during the day, it allows our Instructors ample time to offer patient instruction, with plenty of encouragement, with a high level of safety and enjoyment. Receive more attention and friendly service from our professional crew. Enjoy complimentary coffee/tea and afternoon tea consisting of a fruit platter, delicious fruit cake, cheese and biscuits, as you decompress from visiting the largest living organism in the world. We will have you back at our marine berth on Hamilton Island at 5:00pm, just in time for another Wonderful Whitsunday Sunset.

INTODUCTORY DIVERS
You will require a A.S. 4005.1 dive medical from a diving doctor if you have any of the following conditions or are over the age of 55:
Asthma or wheezing, Diabetes, Fainting, seizures or blackouts, chronic bronchitis or persistent chest complaints, Chronic sinus conditions, collapsed lung, brain or spinal cord injury or disorder, Heart disease of any kind, Chest surgery, High or low blood pressure, ear surgery on antidepressants.
To avoid disappointment have your doctor perform a
AS 4005.1 Scuba Diving Medical (125 KB)
You are not able to dive if you:
Are Pregnant, suffer from; Epilepsy or Tuberculosis or long term lung disease. Or are flying in the next 12hrs after a single scuba dive and 24 after 2 dives.
However snorkelling may still be available
